Nacir Chamma, master of the lute music in the World

His dream goes beyond all borders. It is universal. He is the Iraqi artist and musician Nacir Chamma, master of the lute music in the world. 

  • The international artist arrived on Saturday to Constantine; east of Algeria in order to participate in Ramadan nights and concerts which coincide with the Festival of Sufi Music in Constantine.
  • The Iraqi artist will also check on the home of lute in Constantine, because he contributed in its foundation.
  • Fans of the lute music in Constantine will attend two concerts, here on Sunday and tomorrow Monday, after the Iftar at the regional theater of the city. 
  • Nacir Chemma succeeded in forging a particular path despite all the pitfalls thanks to his perseverance, determination and above all his passion. He led a long struggle against the cultural and artistic vacuum in Arab World, armed with his lute and a large musical culture and science.
  • The true artist does not seek stardom, he seeks the real music and only the true is beautiful.       
  • Nacir Chamma was born in 1963 in Al Kut, Iraq. He started playing the lute at the age of 12. He studied music at the Institute of Arabic Music.
  • Between 1993 and 1998, he was a teacher of music at the Higher Institute of Arabic Music in Tunis. In 1999, he was appointed head of the Arab Centre of Lute in Cairo. Today, he is the director of Beit the Oud ( the home lute), which was founded in Cairo, in order to learn the lute and Arab music. He created the first eight-stringed lute after Al Farabi manuscript.
