The Makhzen Begs Washington To Establish Military Base On Western Sahara Lands
The Makhzen promised the United States of America to build a military base in Western Sahara soil, Moroccan media said, on Tuesday.
Hespress website, which is close to the Moroccan Foreign Ministry, reported “the existence of negotiations” to transfer a branch of the American military command from Europe to the occupied Western Sahara territories.
According to the website, “the military base will be inaugurated soon”, without clarifying the nature of this agreement, and whether it was among the Makhzen’s promises to the leaving Donald Trump’s administration.
This declaration is more like a dream and begging than an agreement because Washington, which new administration may withdraw from Trump’s personal commitment to the Makhzen’s sovereignty over the Western Sahara lands, will not engage in a move that contradicts the United Nations regulations by establishing a base in territories that are considered by international law as a land of dispute.
