Moroccan media which are close to the Makhzen attacked the ambassador of Rabat to Algeria, Mohamed Ait Ouali, whom they described as a philosopher who had become a thorn in the foot of its diplomacy.
The “Hespress” website, which is close to the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, quoted a diplomatic source as saying that the Moroccan regime is angry at the performance of Ait Ouali.
This website and its source bore the failure of the diplomatic machine to justify the normalization trade-off for Trump’s promise of sovereignty over Western Sahara to the ambassador.
The site claimed that the new ambassador to Algeria said that “the successes of Moroccan diplomacy in the Algerian file may be in vain, relying on a specialist in philosophy who is dragging an ambiguous diplomatic path behind him.”
More than that, the media close to the Makhzen came to the point of publishing “scandals” of a diplomat representing its country in another country, by talking about non-payment of dues for his cook in the embassy.
Last July, the Moroccan authorities appointed Mohamed Ait Ouali as their new ambassador to Algeria, to succeed the former ambassador, Lahcen Abdelkhalek.
