The Ministry of Education launches a series of meetings to calm down angry teachers

Algiers- Ministry of National Education plans to hold a series of meetings with representatives of the seven syndicates approved in the sector, to raise the demands of education workers to the PM Ahmed Ouyahia who is expected to announce new decisions for the benefit of the sector by October 15th, an official at the Ministry of Education told Echorouk.

 

In this context, Secretary General of the Education Ministry met with representatives of National Union for Education and Training Workers which called for a general open strike by the beginning of October 10, accompanied by the National Council of Secondary and Technical Education and the National Federation of Education Workers, which in turn called for a three days strike from 4 to 6 October.

 

Same official added that a series of meetings will continue with the rest of independent syndicates, as the central syndicate focused on the creation of a grant for monitoring and guidance by 50% of the basic salary for the workers under the decree 08/315 of the private law, a grant for public educational service by 50% of the basic wage for the common branches and workers of the profession and agents.

 

A member of the National Bureau of Education Workers, Ferhat Chouikh, explained that they demanded the consolidation of a grant for rehabilitation for all workers accounted for 45% of the basic wage, a grant for professional experience in teaching by 4% for each degree and extend it to all employees, and expanding the grant for effectiveness by 40% for all workers of education.
