The Mosque of Paris Urges French Authorities to Arrest Profaners of Muslim Tombs

The Imam of the Mosque of Paris, Dalil Abubakr has filed complaint to the French government over the profane acts that targeted several graves of late Muslim soldiers, including Algerians, who died in the Battle of Verdun in 1916, during the First World War.

The complaint was filed two days ago to the French Ministry of Interior to urge the government to arrest the masterminds of such offends.

A statement signed by Mr Abubakr reads that “We firmly condemn such criminal acts, which reflect the extent of hate and scorn to those who gave their life for the nation,” adding “such a situation is unbearable and we expect a prompt reaction from the authorities to punish those who perpetuated such acts, and work that alike acts not to happen again.”

 Meanwhile, Abdallah Zekri, a senior member at the French Muslim Council stated in a press release that the French Interior Ministry recorded 107 anti Islam cases in 2010, adding that 2011 has been witnessing more acts.
