“Moliere A” pavilion… mission impossible.

Two weeks after the kick off of the vaccination campaign in Algeria, I have succeeded to “infiltrate” into “Moliere” pavilion, specialized in the diagnosis of the disease, with the help of a nurse who provided me with gloves and masks asking me to appear sick in order to get checked.

The doctor started consulting me after forwarding a form to fill in which I had to answer to several question in details even on that related to my private life. She made a conclusion that I wasn’t affected by the virus but a seasonal flu for which she prescribed the usual treatment including vitamins.

I took this opportunity to “crawl” inside the patients’ room where we found three people affected by the virus including a Thirty year old man. While we were trying to approach him, one of the doctors ordered us to leave on account that the place was expressly to the medical staff.

The striking thing is that two weeks after the launch of the vaccination campaign against swine flu, the vaccination department at the hospital was curiously empty because of a large scale boycott expressed by the medical personnel at all levels, especially after the tragic death of doctor few days ago following her vaccination against H1N1.
