“This Is Our Telling Response To Makhzen’s Effort To Set Up Military Base For US “Marines”

Sidi Okal, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Security and Documentation in Western Sahara, said that the possibility of establishing a military base for the US Marines, on the occupied Saharan territories, is possible, due to what he termed the “satanic designs” of the Moroccan occupation.

In the first official reaction by the Sahrawi authorities, Sidi Okal confirmed the circulating news regarding the hovering establishment of a US military base by the Makhzen on the occupied Saharan lands, but, he said, nothing is official until the hour, but all possibilities and maneuvers remain open, and the Sahrawi authorities will move with a decisive response on the battle front that is escalating on a daily basis.

“Since the beginning of the military confrontations with the Moroccan occupation soldiers, we have dealt painful blows to the enemy and inflicted material and human losses on them,” the spokesman said. “There are material losses, dead and wounded, but we do not have the exact figure.”

Sidi Okal added, “Since the beginning of the military confrontations, there have been 6 to 7 raids per day on Moroccan positions that extend over a length of 2,700 km, and we have recorded 185 bombing operations during the 30 days of the military confrontations”.

Regarding the development of confrontations on the ground, the Sahrawi official said that they are escalating and will not stop until victory is achieved, indicating that there are thousands of Sahrawi youths who want to join the ranks of the Sahrawi liberation army.

The latter told ”Echorouk”, “We have data confirming that hundreds of Moroccan occupation soldiers are trapped inside the trenches due to the continuous bombing of many sites simultaneously and in periods of time,” explaining that the Moroccan occupation used warplanes in many areas, which is a new development in the military confrontations.

On the other hand, Moroccan media outlets talked about what they called the Moroccan-American negotiations to establish a base for the US “Marines”, on the occupied Sahrawi territories, and these failed provocative attempts by the Makhzen came after it suffered numerous telling setbacks due to the fierce attacks on its military forces present on the border areas on the part of Sahrawi Liberation Army forces.
