Three Algerians Killed By Shi'ite Rebels In Yemen

Three Algerian students have died in the troubled city of Damai, northern Yemen, Algerian nationals installed there confirmed.

The source said one of the students was shot dead on Saturday in Damai, leaving a Somali widow behind, while the second victim was killed in a rocket attack on Tuesday, and then the third victim died on Wednesday in a rocket attack, too.

His funeral was attended massively by foreign students of the Islamic school, including the 200 Algerians. He was buried on Thursday in a graveyard near the Islamic school, the source added.

As for the names of the victims, the students told Echorouk reporter that they could not identify the two first victims, but the third on is identified as Ismail Zeghrir, originated from Teghourt, in the province of El Oued. He had been staying in Yemen for two years and a half. He left behind him a pregnant widow and two kids. 

The students said they are hiding in a trench they dug to shield themselves from the constant bombardment targeting the 7000 thousand students Islamic school.

The 500 Algerian nationals living in the troubled city of Saada, northern Yemen, have urged authorities to come for their help, following the armed attack committed by Shi’ite rebels targeting a Sunni Islamist school and other sites.

The Algerian nationals in Saada fear to leave their houses, due to the omnipresence of pro Shi’ite rebel snipers, who were ordered to shot the Islamic school students.
