Toumi to Echorouk: “Retrieval of Algerian war archives dependent on Algeria-France negotiations”
Culture Minister, Khalida Toumi, has told Echorouk that Algeria is adamant in its resolve to retrieve the archives pertaining to its glorious independence struggle still held in France.
- Mrs Toumi Said that such a move depended on an early breakthrough in the intricate negotiations now underway between the parties concerned of the two countries.
- Evoking the upcoming celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Algeria’s youth and independence day due on July 5th 2012, The culture Minister indicated that 150 cinematographic projects as well as 50 theatre plays and around 900 books dealing with Algeria’s liberation struggle would be achieved to coincide with this landmark event in Algeria’s contemporary history.
