Trade minister reveals strategy to sustain prices ahead of Ramadan

The trade minister Mustapha Ben Bada has revealed a battery of measures designed to regulate the market and curb speculation, calling the Algerian consumers to play their part in stabilizing the prices during the holly month of Ramadan.

  • He has also summoned the Algerian operators to keep on supplying the Libyans and Tunisians from Algeria by using the legal ways, calling them to combat all forms of contraband.

  • The minister has revealed in a press conference that 18 laboratories are due to be created in a number of provinces that used to rely on the neighboring ones for the control of the quality of goods.

  • He further noted that the existing 20 laboratories are properly carrying out their task before revealing the next creation of the Algerian Agency for the Protection against Consumption’s Risks.

  • The initiative is designed to impart the culture of consumerism in the Algerian society and consolidates the authorities’ policy in the protection of the Algerian consumers, it said.

  • M Ben Badda has noted that his sector will issue the first Algerian guidebook for the protection of the consumers, whose main task consists in consolidating the culture of consumerism in the Algerian society.

  • It contains thorough information designed to raise the consumers’’ awareness as to the quality of the products as well as their compliance with market’s standards in terms of hygiene and traceability.
