Trade Minister to pay a working visit to Libya
Trade Minister Mostapha Ben Bada to lead a working visit to Libya at the invitation of his Libyan counterpart.
Ben Bada will be accompanied by a delegation of Algerian businessmen, the agenda of this visit is expected to include Algeria’s participation in Tripoli International Fair, along with Arab, European and American countries, in order to confirm Algeria’s presence in Tripoli Fair’s 40 Edition, which will start on Monday, April 5, to end on April 14.
This visit is also expected to boost cooperation again between the two neighbours, especially after the visit of the Libyan Interior Minister to Algeria recently .
Algeria intends to raise the level and volume of economic exchanges between the two countries, given to what the Algerian market presents to its libyan counterpart, as a promising market which is able to support the reconstruction of Libya after the collapse of the former regime.
The volume of trade between Algeria and Libya, during the era of Muammar Gaddafi, did not exceed $ 20 million because of the obstacles that were set by the previous regime, particularly the decision to impose visas on Algerians, a decision that had a negative impact on both countries.
Economic experts assert that the volume of exchange between the two countries can not be more than the amount estimated above, adding that this visit is likely to tighten ties between the two neighbouring countries .
