Trawler reported missing off Tenès: “One of the 8 fishermen found dead in Tipaza”

The dead body of one of the 8 sailors reported missing on board a fishing trawler since last Friday off the coast of Tenès in Chlef province in north-western Algeria was found Tuesday afternoon at Bouharoun beach in Tipaza province, about 60 kms west of Algiers..

• After the preliminary investigations, it was ascertained that the dead fisherman was Ben Aouali Mahfoud, about 60 years’ old and father of 4 children. He hailed from the coastal town of Tenès.

• The corpse retrieved from the seawaters was also recognized as that of Ben Aouali Mahfoud by one of the old fishermen working in the Bouharoun region.

• The body of the deceased sailor is currently at the morgue of Koléa hospital and is due to be transferred shortly to the hospital of Tenès before being handed over to his family for burial.
