Tunisia President pays a two days visit to Algeria

Algiers -Tunisia President Mohamed Moncef Marzouki pays an official visit to Algeria here on Sunday leading an important ministerial delegation at the invitation of the Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

President Abdelaziz Bouteflika held Algiers talks with his Tunisian counterpart Mohamed Moncef Marzouki who is on a two-day official visit in Algeria.

Following his arrival to Algiers, President of Tunisia Mohamed Moncef Marzouki stood at the Martyr’s Sanctuary in Algiers, in memory of martyrs of the glorious war of liberation.

The host of Algeria was accompanied by Deputy-Minister to the Minister of National Defence Abdelmalek Guenaizia.

This two-day visit “is part of tightening dialogue and consultation between the two countries,” a statement from the presidency of the Republic said Saturday.

It will allow “strengthening the relations of brotherhood, good neighborliness, and cooperation and explore ways of strengthening them in various areas in accordance with the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples,” the source said.

The visit will also be an “opportunity for dialogue on the process of building the Arab Maghreb Union (AMU) and the various regional and international issues of common interest,” the statement concluded.
