Turkey Tightens Visa Issuance Procedures For Algerians
The Turkish Embassy in Algeria has carefully decided how Algerian citizens can obtain a “B-01” e-visa, imposing new conditions that did not exist before, and described them as miraculous, even though Turkey had previously wanted to cancel the visa between the two countries, as it forced applicants to provide a justification of their possession of large amounts of money during their stay in Turkey, worth $ 50 per day, with the mandatory possession of a “travel insurance” document.
The embassy said, in a detailed statement that was issued on Thursday, that the new changes in the modalities and conditions for the granting of “e-visa” to enter the Turkish territory of the category “B01”, came to put an end to the negative interpretations that have spread rapidly on the sensitive issue of the “visa”.
It informed all Algerian citizens who are holding a regular passport and wishing to visit Turkey whether for tourism and recreation or in a purely professional framework for businessmen, that it was decided from the date of October 1, 2019, to set new conditions for obtaining the visa type “B01”, mainly related to the age of applicants who must be between 18 or 35, with the need for possession of the validity of a “Schengen Visa” and other visas to enter these countries : the United States, England and Irland.
Turkey, through its embassy in Algeria, also imposed on the Algerian citizens, additional conditions that are described as prohibited, related to the importance of having a document to prove the booking of air tickets “round trip”, accompanied by a residence certificate, in addition to the possession of a passport for a period of validity of not less than six months, and a “travel insurance” document in accordance with the laws in force in Turkey, and stipulated that the visa applicant must justify the possession of large sums of money worth $ 50 for each day that is spent on the Turkish territory.
The embassy explained in the same detailed statement, regarding the electronic visa of the category “C1”, that it remains valid and applicable only for the category of applicants between the ages of 18 and 35, to become void from the date of the first of October,2019, and must be replaced directly by an ordinary visa that can be obtained in accordance with the traditional procedures of depositing a passport at the level of the offices of the Embassy.
Turkish embassy also appealed to those wishing to obtain a “traditional visa” to apply at the level of offices of the company “Gateway” that are distributed across 13 provinces namely Algiers, Constantine, Oran, Annaba, Batna, Bejaia, Setif, Tlemcen, Chlef, Adrar, El Oued, Tamanrasset , Ghardaia, in order to deposit their visa files from the date of the first of October, 2019.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during his second visit to Algeria in February 2018, had announced his country’s intention to cancel the visa between the two countries, but his request or desire has been rejected by the Algerian authorities, in return, the number of Algerians who entered the Turkish territory reached 100,000 in 2018, and the number of Algerians who resided in Turkey reached 220,000 in 2017, with an increase of 15% in 2016, after several visa facilities were introduced, in addition to supporting flights between the two countries to reach 50 flights per week via Algerian and Turkish airlines with the opening of a new direct airline to the city of Antalya in the summer vacation.
