Turkish Visa: VFS Global Forces Algerians To Buy Travel Insurances From Gateway Center!
VFS Global services have taken new measures for the benefit of Algerians who wish to obtain Turkish visas, through the acquisition of the compulsory travel insurance from the gateway centre, and rejecting any dealings with other insurance companies, including the Algerian insurance companies.
According to what Echorouk learned, and in the context of the new procedures for requesting a Turkish visa in Algeria, VFS Global confirmed that the acquisition of travel insurance is compulsory and inevitable from the “gateway” centre, and the travel insurance policy that is issued from other insurance companies is not accepted, the passport delivery service is compulsory, and the consulate costs are equivalent to DZD 13.700, which is the price of the visa, DZD 1000 for the delivery service, and DZD 2800 for the travel insurance for a month, bringing the total sum to DZD 17.500.
Accordingly, it is clear that the VFS Global centre in charge of studying visa files for Turkey has rejected Algerian insurance contracts and imposed a foreign currency travel insurance contract with a Japanese company, at a time the Algerian insurance companies are appealing for the intervention of the Finance Ministry to stop this transgression, as it contradicts the Algerian laws and encourages, in a hidden way, to smuggle hard currency, since the Algerian customer has the right to acquire an insurance contract in dinars or the national currency, and Algerian insurance companies have the right to benefit from that.
