UEFA Champions League 2019/20: This Is How Riyad Mahrez Will Play The Remaining Matches
The Executive Committee of the European Union of Football Association revealed on Wednesday, the formula for the remainder of the European Champions League competition for the current season.
Four matches remained from the Champions League final, which was supposed to take place last March but was postponed due to the Corona pandemic spread. Among them is the confrontation of the Algerian international winger, Riyad Mahrez, and his team, Manchester City against Real Madrid. Noting that the English club won outside the ground in the first leg match (1-2).
Thus, it was decided that Mahrez and his team, “The Sky Blues”, will face Real Madrid on 7/8 August, in the Etihad Stadium, which is affiliated with the English club.
In the quarter-finals, the European Football Association decided to organize a mini-championship in which the eight qualifying clubs will participate, with the matches to be conducted in the Portuguese capital Lisbon, exactly at the “Da Luz” and “José Alvalade” stadiums, and without the fans’ attendance.
The quarter-final showdowns will take place in the form of only one match between two teams, based on the draw of July 10. As is the practice in competitions in which national teams participate.
The semi-final matches are held in the same format, and in the same two stadiums, just as the final is held in Portugal.
List of the dates of the remainder of the UEFA competition:
