UN envoy to Western Sahara leaves Algeria

The UN new special envoy to Western Sahara Christopher Ross left Algeria today concluding a two-day visit during which he met with Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika and Algerian Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci.

•  The UN special envoy stated that the aim of his visit is to sound out prospects for resuming stalled talks between Morocco and the Polisario independence movement. Ross”s visit came in the context of restarting negotiations between the Polisario and Morocco.
