Unions to resume protests across the country

Several unions including the temporary teachers’ committee and fixed time contract employees have decided to stage rallies nearby the town halls across the country in a move to forward their requests to the governors and, by extension, to the president Bouteflika.

  •  The main coordinator of the committee of the fixed time contract employees, Malika Fellil, has indicted to Echourouk that its movement is scheduled for the next week and is set to take place by in front of the town halls across the country.

  •  

  • “ We are demanding our integration in our posts and refuse any form of exploitation thorough the fixed time contacts”, she said. To recall, some 250 thousands young people are employed under this formula and many of them lost their jobs after the end of their contracts.

  • This campaign coincides with the movement of strike conducted by the hospital doctors that froze their activities at hospitals until the relevant ministry meets their demands.

  • “ The strike will carry on until the fulfilment of the requests raised to the ministry and we will not give up our rights” , the chairman of the union M Djidjli has noted.

  •  

  • The National Committee of temporary teachers has decided to start a series of protests in the wake of the arbitrary decision taken against teachers summoning them to quit their pots without prior notice.

  •  

  • Some of them have taught for more than 10 years .
