Unscrupulous individuals forge legal documents to benefit from state pensions

The Algerian justice courts have treated 1750 cases dealing with the falsification of birth certificates over the last 10 months. People involved in this forgery have used the fake documents to benefit from the state pensions allocated to retired people or start their own businesses.

  •

  • Figures released by judicial sources have revealed that the number of the cases has increased over the last three years throughout the country, passing from 973 in 2009 to 1165 in 2010 and reached 1750 cases in 2011.

  •

  • The wrongdoers have swindled the Algerian administration wit the aim to get access to the different state allowances granted to a certain category of people including the retired people, disabled and war veterans.

  •

  • The fraud has crossed the Algerian borders to reach the French soil, since many of them have swindled the French pension fund to benefit from pensions granted by the French authorities to the Algerian nationals that worked there.

  •

  • The financial damage was estimated at 47 million Euros over the year 2011 in comparison to 25 millions in 2010, according to estimates released by the French authorities.
