A US report crtisized human rights situation in Algeria through false and baseless facts as it accused it of being careless in fighting slavery.

The report ranked Algeria among top countries which do not make efforts in fighting slavery in accordance to criteria set by the US Congress.

Two weeks ago, a similar report was released criticizing human rights situation in Algeria. The foreign affairs minister summoned the US ambassador before responding to it as it contained “false facts and judgements based on intentional conclusions.”

The report classifies the countries in the world into three levels: governments which respect the law of human traffic protection, governments which do not respect but make efforts to meet the criteria and governments which do not respect the law set by the Congress.

Arab countries were classified among the last two categories. Algeria was ranked in the third one along with Kuwait, Libya, Mauritania, Mauritania, Syria and Yemen.

The second category included Sudan, Tunisia, Oman, Iraq, Jordan, Bahrain, Morocco, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon and Qatar.

The 384-page-report defines human traffic as a phenomena which raises concerns and causes victims including adults and children of foreign nationalities.

Observers believe that the US is not eligible to judge others in terms of human rights as it is involved in wars in the world including Afghanistan, Iraq and Somalia. Those wars caused a disaster and millions of people have become homeless because of them.
