World Road Congress: Ghoul Invites Mexican Operators to Invest in Algeria
Minister of Public Works, Amar Ghoul, has seized his participation in the 24th World Road Congress, just wrapped up in Mexico, as an opportunity to invite local investors to enter the North African market.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Public Works noted that Mr Ghoul has ended his participation in Mexico’s World Road Congress by meeting Mexican Minister of Transport, Dionisio Pérez-Jácome Friscione, as they discussed investment potential opportunities Algeria offers, mostly in the domain of the construction of road facilities like bridges and tunnels.
The Mexican official has introduced the long experience of his country in terms of the management and the maintenance of highways, in addition to techniques related to the solving of traffic jam problem in big cities.
The two parties approached other issues, including security and safety techniques in terms of the management of tunnels and tubes in case of disasters, in addition to the issue of the management of the payment systems in highways, mostly as Algeria’s is imminently, to start implementing the payment system through its fresh east-west highway.
