Zinédine Zidane: “The Greens of Algeria will advance to the second round in case of victory over Slovenia”

In a free-wheeling statement to the French sports magazine “France Football”, the former world football star, Zinédine Zidane, said that the Algeria squad had the necessary potentialities to secure a berth in the second round of the 2010 World cup competition to be hosted by South Africa starting from next June. 

• Zinédine Zidane indicated that the Greens of Algeria would advance to the second round of the World cup if they outplay Slovenia in the first match of the tournament.

• He added, to this effect, that the qualification for the second round for the Algeria line-up would be decided during the last scheduled match versus the USA squad.

• “The Greens of Algeria will be freed from pressure in South Africa”.

•  Zinédine Zidane also asserted that Algeria’s qualification for the 2010 World cup finals was meritorious and praiseworthy in the eyes of all fair-minded and righteous peoples across the world.

• He said that the Algeria squad had made tremendous progress over the past 2 years owing to the talent and prowess of the players and the great competence and experience of national coach Rabah Saâdane.

• Zinédine Zidane further expressed the wish to see an Algeria – France match in South Africa while wishing both squads all the best in the forthcoming World cup contest.
