10.000 Algerian troops in south of the country to fight terror groups.

The military based in southern Algeria received orders to start large sweep operations in the southern provinces of Tindouf, Bechar, Adrar, Tamanrasset, Adrar, Illizi and Ouargla. The Operations have started last week according to our source. This occurred after two Spaniards and an Italian aid workers were abducted by an unknown group in the locality of Rabuni near Tindouf, a south eastern Algerian city bordering the freed lands of the Democratic Arab Sahrawi Republic. The military in action in the large and vague Algerian desert are using heavy weapons to target might-be hideouts of terror groups in the region between the border with Morocco, the Sahrawi free land and Mauritania in the west and Libya, Tunisia in the east. The army is using infantry backed by helicopters and MIG jet fighters which bomb targeted areas, according to Echorouk sources. The infantry is composed of 10.000 soldiers and covers an area of 100.000 km2. our source also said the military are covering areas they had decided to target based on information collected on field on the movement of a terror group in the Algerian desert. Some analysts say the use of the heavy artillery and air military means shows that the Algerian army is prepared to face extreme situations and threats; the fist menace is to see the military be dragged by the terror group into traps where they could try a spectacular attack on the troops using the weapons terrorists brought from Libya. It is worth recalling that a big number of heavy weapons that disappeared in Libya during the armed conflict between the NTC and Gaddafi’s militia is raising concerns in Algiers as well as London and Washington.
