10 suspects appeared in court for faking passports in Algeria

A court in the province of Ghelizane (west of Algiers) dealt last week with a case of an international network specialised in helping people to immigrate to Europe.

  •
  • Attorney General sought three to five years prison for the 10suspects. Five of them are arrested and five others are released on bail. The mastermind is on the run.
  • The network transported people who wanted to immigrate to Europe via fake visas. They also deal with wanted suspects sentenced to prison.
  • The suspects lied on their clients by promising them to give them visas in return for some money. In fact, they stole their passports and counterfeit them in favour of the wanted suspects.
  • The National Gendarmerie forces caught the suspects after seizing the fake passports with visas used by the network to help some people in travelling.
  • They also found a sum of money and various pictures.
