More than 900 Algerian tour agencies compete to promote trips to many countries such as Tunisia, Turkey, Morocco, Malaysia, Spain, Indonesia, Dubai and Russia. They publish advertisements on media, websites and even on the street.

An owner of an agency in Bab El Oued in Algiers said trips to Tunisia and Turkey were booked early in the fasting month of Ramadan. The number of Algerians who want to go to Tunisia and Turkey will be the double compared to last year. Summer tourism in Algeria will remarkably decline due to bad services and high costs.

Vice-chief of Tour Agencies Union Ilyes Senoussi said about 50 trips will be organized per week to Tunisia and Turkey after Eid El Fitr. “Those wountries could attracted Algeria as they offer good services at low costs.”

Speaking about competition between agencies, he said it is normal but it is nor organized.

“Tourism sector in our country did not reached the required level,” he added.

He believes that the solution is to take serious measures in terms of services at touristic complexes and hotels.
