2nd Algiers International Theatre Festival in Algiers from October 14 to 25

ALGIERS – 2nd Algiers International Festival Theatre (FITA), to last from October 14 to 25, opened Thursday evening at Mahieddine-Bachtarzi National Theatre, with the participation of theatre companies from eighteen countries.

The festival, during which will be presented 17 plays, was inaugurated by Khalida Toumi, Minister of Culture, attended Brahim Noual, the festival commissioner M’Hamed Benguettaf, theatre Director and Sonia, festival director.

“We reaffirm our commitment to support all efforts which include initiatives working to promote theater in particular and cultural activity in general,” said Khalida in brief remarks, emphasizing the importance of theater in society.
