“During the last 15 days more than 30 youngsters used the boats of death from Annaba and reached the other side of the Mediterranean. They came from border and southern regions like Oued Souf”, Kamel Belabed say.

Association of the Illegal immigrants’ families received many calls by many families which were informed that their children left Annaba coats towards Italy, confirming that they were surprised when they called them saying that they reached the Italian territories.

The same source said illegal immigration will never stop because the number of boats which leave the coasts every day is uncountable, in view of the strict confidentiality that surrounds it, as well as inability of the coast guards to control and monitor all the boats, according to information by the foreign media in Spain, Greece, and Italy.

Spokesman of the association, Kamal Balabed said; “I’m sorry for the recent statements by the Minister of Solidarity, Djamel Oueld Abbas, who limited the number of Algerian illegal immigrants in Italy to 48 youngsters only, because in June 2008 there were over 400 illegal immigrants who went to Italy in one night. Reducing the real number of the Algerian illegal immigrants in Europe would deepen the suffering and tragedy of their families, particularly for families that have not yet been able to receive news about their children”.

Now, families of illegal immigrants fear the authorities would fail in dealing properly with illegal immigrants’ file, and stop any development in the case, at a time they look for help by the foreign diplomacies in order to find a solution.
