750 thousand employees of the civil service sector with no professional status

The number of decrees issued in the government publication list and came into force rose to 26 in 44 according to the Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia.

• The laws cover different civil service sectors which employs some 1.603.994 elements, while 17 draft laws are still pending and were not discussed yet. Those concern 40% of the overall employees representing some 750 thousands.

•  7 bills which deal with interior ministry sectors’ employees were not even submitted for debate to the civil service department, sources added.

• Some 103 thousand employees of the sector are still waiting to settle their situation as 8 bills are still pending. According to the Financial Federation Union General Secretary, Ahmed Zouaoui, several contradictions were noticed in different provisions that led to a cacophony, thus the decision to postpone the debate.

• The agriculture sector witnesses the same problem as the status of the forest rangers and vets are still waiting to be discussed at the civil service department.
