Nekkaz spoils Chakib Khelil’s « ceremony » in Chlef

The visit of Algeria’s former energy minister Chakib Khelil to the Omar Ben Khettab Zaouia in the province of Chlef Tuesday raised a large controversy. His guards pushd former presidential candidate Rachid Nekkaz and did not allow him to enter the Zaouia. He wanted to cause noise over Khelil.

This event raised anger among Nekkaz ‘s fans who considered it as humiliating. They attacked the guards. Fearing of possible violence acts, organizers evacuated the mosque and took Khelil out of it.

Nekkaz called on officials to stop exploiting Zaouias for political purposes. He also called for punishing people who entered the Mosque wearing their shoes.
