Algerian justice minister Tayeb Louh said a new penal law will be released to punish any person who travels abroad to join terrorist groups.

The law is meant to punish any person either Algerian or foreign who goes from Algeria to another country to joint terrorist.

“This law criminalizes anyone who travels abroad to join terrorists. People who recruit or fund anyone who wants to work for terrorist groups will be punished as well,” said the minister.

On a visit to the National Institute of Criminal Evidence and Criminology, Louh said it uses high technologies to investigate into crimes.

“This institute’s achievements are in conformity with aims meant by justice reforms as part of the President’s program,” he said.

“An agreement was signed between the justice ministry and the National Gendarmerie. A working team will be formed to have a computer link between the institute and some examining judges in courts in Algiers and its suburbs. Signature and certifying will be automatized so that judges will get expertise reports instantly,” he added.
