Algerian ambassador to Syria, Salah Boucha, defended the position towards Bashar al-Assad regime, and crisis in Syria, and estimated the number of Syrians who fled to Algeria because of war to 50,000 refugees.

Algerian diplomat said, in an interview with the official agency “SANA”, on Tuesday that Syria is facing the danger of weakening the country and dissuading it from the national and international positions.

“Syria is facing an attempt to weaken and discourage it from national and international positions, and place it away from its role in the region because the weakening of Syria is destroying the whole region.”

“Algeria rejected all the resolutions of the Arab League to suspend Syria’s membership and all the politicized international resolutions that have tried to destroy its sovereignty and interference in its internal affairs. It is known that Algeria is almost the only Arab country that kept relationships with the Syrian regime, and objected to withhold its seat in the Arab League, especially in the Doha summit, as its seat was granted to the Syrian opposition coalition that was represented by the President of the Council Moaz al-Khatib.”
