Education: Threshold to be imposed to save the Bac exam

Pupils will start studying, here on Sunday, after the spring holidays, in very difficult conditions, as the National Education Ministry, will be obliged to adjust the status of lessons, through the imposition of the threshold in order to avoid any mistakes which may occur in the field, and to calm down the pupils, who have threatened to protest if the ministry will not specify the lessons that are concerned with the Bac exam.

Educational Affairs’ observers said that the school entry will include a list of exams that do not correspond with reality, so the Third Semester’s exams will be postponed for pupils of primary phase until the 21st, which may have an impact on the psychological situation of pupils because they are young, and need endurance to high temperature on one hand, and on the other hand, this date marks the period of assembling examination papers and the correction process, and therefore all teachers and professors will be present at the national correction and collection centers, especially since these centers cannot operate without the primary education teachers.

Well-informed sources told  Echorouk that in light of the insistence of the final sections’ pupils on applying the “threshold” system, the National Education Ministry, which announced on several occasions on its abolition, in the words of the minister Nouria Benghabrit, will be forced to impose it through adjusting the situation of lessons, by identifying “reference lessons”, to calm them down in order to avoid the disturbing conditions, on the grounds that the coming period is very sensitive, as only one month of studies will remain, and the Bac candidates will for the exams in the coming 56 days.

National Education Ministry has identified, through the Departments of General Secondary, Technological and Basic Education, in the correspondence that was addressed on Saturday to the DOE in provinces, ordering  the implementation of dates to conduct the experimental examinations and the third semester’s exams, so that pupils of  the final sections and fourth year middle education, will sit for the baccalaureate and “experimental” BEM exams next May, 17, to train pupils on the atmosphere of official examinations, especially from the psychological point of view, in order to alleviate pressure in which they live.

Education Ministry identified next June, 24 as a date to conduct the third semester’s exams for the rest of the levels, ie, for the first, the second and third year of middle school education, and the first and second years of  the secondary school.
