The National Gendarmerie has steadily embarked upon the digital age. It announced on Monday, April 6th, the launch of a new service meant to record ’pre-complaints’ online or to ‘give information related to public security’ before being conveyed to the relevant Gendarmerie brigades.

The pre-complaint recording is carried out through the introduction of personal data of the plaintiff including his or her place of residence and the subject of his or her complaint on the provided National Gendarmerie website: «ppgn.mdn.dz».

“The pre-complaint will be recorded and sent to the territorially competent Gendarmerie unit to fix the date of the presence of the person concerned for the signing of the minutes and the

validation of the complaint,” the Director of telematics  of the National Gendarmerie Command, Mr Badaoui Guir explained.

With this brand-new service, the National Gendarmerie gives 30 days to the person concerned starting from the date of the appointment to move to the nearest Gendarmerie brigade. Once this 30-day deadline expires, the complaint is “automatically” cancelled.

This websitesite willalso enable citizens to provide information “that can contribute to the maintenance of law and order and the preservation of public security” without being compelled to identify themselves.

This type of information may relate to manslaughter, a kidnapping, a case of corruption, robbery, embezzlement or any other offenses.

According to the Director of the national Centre for the fight against cyber-criminality, Colonel Redjem Djamel, all the required measures have been taken to ensure the protection and the confidentiality of all the information on this website.
