“Tunisian Defense Ministry should not hide this from Tunisians, but he ruled out in contrast the presence of U.S. military bases in the Tunisian territory. The Americans need a logistic support such as the creation of hospitals that are able to treat their wounded in counter terrorism operations, like Fawar, Thehiba, Ramada hospitals in the south-east of the country”.
This confirmation comes while Tunisia is living on the impact of a growing controversy about the increased U.S. military activity in the south of Tunisia, not far from the borders with Libya, prompting some to warn that America plans for impending military action in Libya.
Tunisian Foreign Ministry , has published a statement in which it refuted the presence of Americans on the Tunisian ground against the Algerian borders, and its Algerian counterpart went beyond that, in the words of the spokesman for Foreign Affairs Ministry, who reported that there are no military bases, and Algerian authorities have no idea about this information.
