Public Service rejects decision to upgrade 16,000 nurses

Public Service Department rejected the decision to upgrade and integrate 16,000 nurses, in light of the absence of a legal text that frames this decision, which requires a joint ministerial decision that combines the Ministry of Finance, the General Directorate of Public Employment and the Ministry of Health.

In this context, Health Syndicates, denounced the Health Ministry’s statement concerning the decision of upgrade and integration, because it did not address the issue of the joint Ministerial Publication, saying the statement is just an attempt to satisfy the Health Syndicates on the eve of the Presidential Elections.

Echorouk sources said that the Regional Health Managers were surprised of the content of the lists of upgrading which were free of names of nurses who were promoted, which led the financial accountant to mark the lists, because of the absence of any instruction by the public employment which refers to upgrading these workers.

Health Syndicated denounced the lack of inclusion of any decision related to the health staff of qualified nurses, like those who are working in different sectors, such as education, universities and police, and the reason of their exclusion from the upgrading, like other health personnel, as they were not included in the lists of qualified nurses who have made ​​the decision to be promoted, especially since the total number of nurses who are waiting for promotion in all sectors reached over 90,000 nurses, and because the Ministry of Health pointed to only 16,000 of the qualified nurse, which means that decisions of upgrading are related only to the health sector’s patients.

Nurses wait for settling the situation of the qualified employees and promoting them to the tenth grade, so they can reach the ranks of obtaining state certification.

Health Ministry has announced its decision to incorporate more than 24,000 of temporary contractors in permanent positions, and upgrade the qualified nurses to nurses with state certification, in addition to organizing training sessions for the benefit of 24.000 employees in the health sector.

It also decided to open the field of training for more than 6,500 of whom 300 assistant nurses and dental restoration aids, and 300 specialists in neonatal care.
