A documentary film broadcast this week by the French TV channel “LCP” blamed through vivid testimonies some foreign – based outlawed FIS party leaders of collusion with GIA terrorists in the 1996 assassination of seven Cistercian French Monks in the Tibhirine area in central Médéa province.

The French parliamentary channel “LCP” exonerated through a detailed testimony by one survivor of the heinous massacre namely Father Armand Veilleux the national popular Army stressing that the Algerian armed forces had nothing to do with the Monks’ horrendous murder.

Father Armand Veilleux blamed instead a GIA terrorist group then led by the sinister chieftain Djamel Zitouni for the 7 Monks’ cowardly assassination in 1996.

He said the GIA terrorists had burst into to the Tibhirine Monastery to threaten the Monks settled there and one of the terrorists asked for a mobile phone from of the Monks to call henchmen settled then in Germany to ask them to supply the terrorist groups operating in the region with weapons and ammunition.

Their phone interlocutor was an individual belonging to the now disbanded FIS leadership party settled at that time in Europe precisely in Germany, according to the LCP documentary’s revelations.

The killings then touched off a shockwave of indignation and stupor in both Algeria and France. The Algerian government said that the perpetrators were a group of GIA terrorists. This has now been firmly buttressed by Father Armand Veilleux’s telling testimony in the recently-broadcast TV documentary film.
