Medelci: Algeria will not receive Bashar al-Assad if he will escape from Syria

Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci, ruled the possibility of granting asylum to Bashar al-Assad, if he is forced to go out of Syria.

Medelci declined, in an interview with the TV Channel “Al Arabia” aired on Saturday, the ability that Algeria will accept to grant asylum to Assad resort in case he will be forced to leave Syria.

“Many countries would consider a request for asylum of President Bashar Al-Assad, if he will ask for it in the future. Addressing this situation at the moment is out of the question.”

Foreign Minister excluded the scenario of Algeria’s reception of the Syrian president, if he would escape or be ousted, reminding the observers of the security mater, especially the part which is associated with so-called “states of the Arab Spring”, and since Algeria had also announced, earlier, that it rejected receiving the former Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi, while it received members of his family for “humanitarian reasons.”

In a context related to Syria crisis, the United Nations’ mediator Lakhdar Brahimi, said after a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, that Russia and the United States would consider a “creative solution” to the Syrian worsening crisis, as Brahimi told reporters after the meeting on the sidelines of a conference in Dublin, held last weekend; “We have not made any exciting decisions, the meeting was not scheduled, and might point to the emergence of a new cooperation between the major powers over Syria after months of differences”.

“We agreed that the situation is bad, and that we must continue to work together to see how we can find creative ways to put this problem under control in the hope of starting to solve it.”

In the field the Free Syrian Army, announced that Damascus International Airport is a war zone, as the junta spokesman in Damascus Nabil Amer, said that the priority of the fighters was besieging the airport, and decided on Thursday to make it a military zone.
