Unions summon the government to reduce the ministers’ salaries

As a reaction to the government’s austerity plan using the excuse of the financial crisis, many unions brandished the threat of the back –to- social- turmoil time in case they do not fulfil their grievances.

  • Other trade unions have called for the slash of the ministers and MPs salaries to cushion the aftermaths of the financial crisis and reducing the imports bill, contending that the austerity plan should be expanded to all sectors without exception.

  • The SG of the public service general union Belkacem Felfoul has indicated that the economic crisis shouldn’t affect the most vulnerable social classes only, criticising the high salaries owned by the MPs.

  • “ We won’t keep silent and never give up our right”, noting that all the unions affiliated to the “ SNAPAP” are not satisfied with the latest salaries increases calling for the unification of the allowance dedicated to all the sectors and shouldn’t be less than 40%.
