State funerals of late President Ben Bella

At the cemetery of Al Alia in Algiers, late Ahmed Ben Bella, first president of independent Algeria has been buried in the martyrs square.

 The funeral service was attended by President Abdelaziz Bouteflika and high government officials. The President of Tunisia Moncef El Merzouki, the Moroccan Prime Minister Abdelilah Ben Kirene, and the Prime minister of Mauritania Moulay Ould Mohmed Al Aghdaf also attended the ceremony. Ahmed Ben Bella was a symbol of the fight against colonialism in Algeria, in the Maghreb countries and in Africa.
