Heavy Snowfall Isolates Villages From the World

The torrential weather and heavy snow fall in the northern region of Algeria since Sunday lef several roads blocked, forcing firefighters to intervene 1879 times in 12 provinces.

According to the Firefighting statement, bad weather in Tlemcen western province, provoked a road accident, as three people died, including a Moroccan national when the car carrying them crashed, while three others were injured. In Djelfa province, 4 people died from gas suffocation.
A car crashed in Beni Tamou locality in Blida province left three soldiers dead, while two cars collided in Belabbes province left two dead and one injured. Another person died in a similar accident in Tlaghma locality, Mila province.
The severe weather triggered the blockade of several roads as 20 cm of snow has fallen in the two previous days.
Local  roads in were blocked by snow, leaving several villages and cities in the provinces of Setif, Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia, Bouira, Tebessa, Batna and Blida isolated from the world.
Meanwhile, a 68 year old woman died from cold in Bouandas village, in the mountains of Setif, amid a severe scarcity of butane gas hitting the northern parts of the province.
A special forecast warned snow and rain will continue pouring on the northern and interior parts of Algeria.  Temperatures will drop as well overnight.
