Colonel Oualtache trial adjourned to mid October
The lawyers of the colonel Oualtache, the man involved in the killing f the former Algerian police chief, have requested the documents pertaining to the contracts sealed by 25 other defendants due to appear before the judge here in Algiers on charges of sealing shady contracts.

The reports were prepared by the National Police General Directorate following instructions given by the late Ali Tounsi. The lawyers have insisted on the presence of the witnesses mentioned in the reports.

They have also requested to take a look at the records and assessments dealing with the contracts but didn’t receive them yet.

The defence lawyers have requested an adjournment for the second time until mid October in a to listen to the other defendants and assure the smooth running of the trial that hit the headlines of the local and international media.

To recall, the late Ali Tounsi has issued instructions to open an inquiry on February 2010 over shady contracts sealed by the colonel Oualtache as part of a project to acquire equipment for the police General Directorate departments.
