15000 Visas to Algerians Wishing Attending London 2012 Olympics, UK Ambassador

The United Kingdom will grant 15 thousand visas to Algerian wishing to attend the London Olympics in July 2012, Ambassador of the UK to Algiers, Martyn Roper said Saturday.

 

Mr Roper told reporters that the Embassy will grant visas to Algerian athletic and fan applicants in less than 15 days, adding that application form should be filled online, stressing “ that Britain is an open nation and would attribute visas to any eligible applicant.” 

Meanwhile, the British diplomat revealed that the United Kingdom has attributed a £5 million budget to boost the sector of Small and Middle Seized enterprises in Algeria, in cooperation with local associations, including the national association for inter-youth exchange, and the national agency for small loans.

The Ambassador said such a budget would permit the creation of 10 enterprises in Algiers, as a model province, pending generalizing the project to other provinces.

He called on interested youngsters to submit their files to the aforementioned association as by March 2012.

This project is being launched in coordination with the Arab Partnership Fund that Britain has created, as it aims at support political and economic reforms being launched in the MENA region, the official added.

On another side, Mr Roper revealed that missions of British businessmen and employers will visit Algeria in the second half of October, November and December, in addition to early next year, adding that a British minister will pay a work visit to the hydrocarbons city of Hassi Messaoud, southern Algeria, where he is supposed to seal a partnership contract with some hydrocarbon companies there.
