Turkish Kayserispor linked to Algeria ace Meghni

Algeria and Italian Lazio midfielder Mourad Meghni said he would accept playing in Gulf championships only as a last option.

• Mourad Meghni has been quoted by Algerian Al-Meydan website as saying: “I want to deny reports that alleged I’ve been to Qatar to hold negotiations with a club there. It’s true I will leave Lazio, yet, I’d resort to playing for Gulf club as a last option, in case I don’t get offers from European clubs.”
• “I know I won’t have a chance to make an apparition this season with Lazio, and I don’t want to have the same fate next season, so, I want to go through new sensations and sign for a club which would gave me the opportunity to play regularly, even if it is a second-level club,” Algeria playmaker added.
• To recall, Meghni’s contract with Lazio expires in June 2012.
• Meghni has been playing for Lazio since 2007, and for now he could boost his career in Turkey. In fact, Turkish Spor3.com revealed that local Kayserispor would have contacted Algeria internationalist, for an eventual transfer next season.
• The last official apparition of Meghni goes back to 24 January 2010, when he contributed in the win of the Fennecs over Cote d’Ivoire (3-2) in the quarter finals of the African Cup of Nations 2010 in Angola. He subjected a surgery on his serious knee injury in June 2010, blowing up his dream of World Cup apparition.
