A Joint Security Strategy in Eastern Border to Counter Arm Trafficking Gangs
Algerian joint security forces have set up a sophisticated security strategy with the use of modern equipments along the eastern border of the country to anticipate arm trafficking gangs.
This strategy is meant to reinforce the security presence of joint forces in the localities of Hassi Messaoud, Ourgla, El Oued and Ghardia, as well as increasing the security patrols in isolated areas and potential paths of traffickers.
Such a strategy aims at negating the alarming arm smuggle operations from Libya, amid fierce fights between rebels and the pro Gaddafi forces.
Algeria has expressed recurrently concerns over arms chaos in the strife-torn Libya, as arm traffickers have seized the situation to smuggle weapons and sell them to terror groups.
Such developments urged security authorities to set up this strategy which has already brought fruits, as several arm trafficking networks have been broken up, recently.
To recall, the National Army has reinforced presence along the borderline with Libya, to counter any intrusion of terror groups.
