A twin bombing kills three municipal guards east of Algeria
Three municipal guards perished and two others were seriously injured following the explosion of a twin bombing in Babour region, north of Setif, east of Algeria.

The incident occurred exactly in the region of Merzki, where an ambush was prepared before movement of the gendarmerie forces to the region.

Security forces were targeted by the twin bombing which killed three municipal guards, Boumenkeche and Formas, living in Echarfa, in Ain El Kebira, and the third one Boujemline 38 from Tizenbechar, who is also father of three girls.

The injured were transferred urgently to the health sector of the region; one of them is under medical control because of his serious wounds, and following two surgeries in the hospital of Sadana Abdennour in Setif, east of Algeria.

Echorouk sources said a third roadside bomb was discovered in the place of the ambush before it exploded.

This terrorist ambush surprised the gendarmerie forces which tightened their presence in the northern regions of Setif in order to ensure security of the Arab Music Festival of Djmila.

Forces of the Algerian army moved to hunt down the terrorists who implemented the attack, and who fled towards the mountains of Babour, known for being a former stronghold of the armed groups.
