A Woman Smuggles Robbed Luxury Cars From Tunisia, Resold Them in Algeria
The Court of Setif has convicted a 40 years old woman for 4 year prison over charges of smuggling cars from Tunisia and resold them with fake papers in Algeria.
This trafficking network, which is composed of three members, was dismantled by security services following an investigation that was opened after that a victim filed a complaint, saying he bought a car with fake papers.
Detectives managed to set up the suspects and catch them flagrant delicto in the act when they were about to sell a trafficked car from Tunisia to a supposed client. Detectives recouped three Mercedes cars.
The woman, Ch. K, admitted during the trial that she used to smuggle luxury cars from Tunisia, and with the help of two of her accomplices, namely Z.N and D.M, the cars’ serial numbers and papers were trafficked inside a camouflaged garage belonged to Z.N.
The mastermind said the cars, then, were sold either in Setif, or other places, including Algiers and Constantine.
The general prosecutor pleaded for 10 years prison on all the trafficking network members, but the judge convicted them to 4 year prison over charges of forming a criminal gang, forgery and the use of fraudulent administrative documents, robbery, and the smuggling of vehicles from †abroad.
