The vice President of the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement, Moussa Abou Marzouk, declined referring to the projected opening of a Hamas movement office in Algeria as purported of late by several media outlets, preferring to respond diplomatically saying “that houses of 40 million Algerians are open for Hamas .., so why are you searching for an office for the movement in this brotherly country, he emphasized.

The Hamas official, on a visit to Algeria, also stated in the same context during a press conference held at the MSP party headquarters in Algiers on Wednesday that Algeria won’t stop its financial and moral support for Palestine, despite all the talk about the existence of a financial crisis, caused by the decline in the price of a barrel of oil on the world market.

Mr Abou Marzouk dwelt on the ins and out of the Palestinian issue, by confirming that the current period is considered as the worst period experienced by Palestine, owing to a myriad of adverse factors as several unnamed Arab regimes, he said, now unfortunately consider that their prime enemy isn’t Israel but rather Iran.

Referring to inter-Palestinian reconciliation and its prospects, Mr Moussa Abou Marzouk blamed President Mahmoud Abbas for the lingering stalemate on the matter saying: “If there is a genuine political will to fully accomplish this endeavor, it should have been already achieved by now”.

With regard to Egyptian president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s proposed peace initiative in the region, the Hamas official underlined that it remains “just ideas that don’t exceed the borders of Egypt”, as he put it.
