“Echourouk” gets a scoop in Cheb Mami’s case

Paris justice court will start hearing next Thursday the case that hit the national and international headlines involving the Algerian super star Cheb Mami.

• The singer who was supposed to appear before the judge is now reconsidering his decision because he is still dwelling in Algeria. This U-Turn comes after the issue of a report that reveals other details surrounding the case that overwhelm the singer.

• The 18 page report reveals details going back to four years ago when the main plaintiff Isabelle Simon a photographer at “Cima Press” moved to a police station in the region of Saint-Denis (Paris suburbs), while pregnant at her 6 month to lodge a complaint against Cheb Mami revealing that he was the father her child.

• She added that they were friends for more than 10 years but their relations turned to a love affair in the eve of 2004.
• Isabelle went on saying” I have informed Cheb Mami that I was pregnant and asked me to abort threatening me to commit suicide if I refuse to do it. Few days after he contacted me again saying that he booked a room at a Parisian hospital to abort… In August 2005 I made a business travel to Algeria and was received at the airport by a man called Hichem Lezaar who worked as an impresario in Michel Levy’s company. He took me to a small mansion on the beach and offered me an orange juice; I fainted immediately after… I managed to recognize through the car’s window the location where I was transported nearby the Pakistani embassy…”

• The investigations conducted by the French police revealed several names involved in the case whose testimonies are key to the follow up of the inquiry. The woman called Amel was works as a nurse at the hospital admitted that the singer asked her to convince the plaintiff to abort.

• Michel Levy: Mami was the mastermind

• For his part, Michel Levy revealed that the main plotter was cheb Mami and that he was just a mediator in this case. Levy went on saying that he suggested the idea of abortion in Algeria, adding that the two parties (Mami and Isabelle) agreed upon a consensus reported on assigned document which states that the plaintiff will receive 30 thousand Euros.
