“Star Academy” punishes contestant for mocking Haifa

The famous Lebanese artist Haifa Wahbe opened the seventh night the music talent show “Star Academy,” despite being insulted by one of the contestants.

• Palestinian contestant Diyala Oudeh was forbidden by the Academy from participating in the introduction song with the rest of the contestants and from sitting with her colleagues.
• Diyala was scheduled to sing a duet with Haifa and the Academy replaced her with another contestant.
• Although, the management at the Academy denied Haifa’s request to exclude Diyala from the show. 
•  The problem started when Diyala said that she did not like Haifa and that she is not that beautiful. She also said that Haifa’s hair is not real and that Haifa ruined her face with all the plastic surgery she had performed. The chat between the two contestants was recorded on a video which is posted on the internet website “You Tube.”
• Diyala, 25-years old, sings at the Egyptian Opera House and studies at the Music Institute in Cairo. 
• She previously released a song called “Jay Jay” (I’m Coming), and also participated in the music talent show “Superstar.”
