“We will not protect you if you play with Echorouk logo,” says Egypt to handball players

Egypt’s authorities appear to have a phobia of Echorouk as it faced all the media’s insults against Algeria’s people, martyrs and President.

• As soon as Echorouk signed a sponsorship contract with Algeria’s handball team, Egypt started putting pressure on the players. It prevented them from entering the stadium with the newspaper’s logo on their shirts.

• The African Handball Cup organiser transmitted a strong message to the Algerian team in the form of an implicit threat. They told them: “If you play with Echorouk’s logo, we will not ensure your safety.”  This expression triggered fears among the players in Cairo.

• Though Echorouk has the right to have its logo on the players’ shirts in all the matches they play, it preferred to take off the logo and remain the team’s sponsor.

• It is clear that Egypt prevented a media and advertising right to claim how Echorouk is triggering terror in it.

• It is sure that million of people watched Algeria’s handball team playing with a “black frame” on their shirts. Actually, it was an insulating tape covering Echorouk’s logo. It was a mourning of behaving morality between nations. How can Egypt prevent Echorouk from being present while it was only defending Algeria’s national symbols? The world saw who was insulting and who was defending himself.

• They (Egypt’s authorities) will attack Algeria but this will not prevent us from making the difference between the poor Egyptian people and those who are fighting Echorouk.
